Choosing the right Hajj group is one of the most important decisions you will make before embarking on the sacred journey.
Your group is responsible for your visa, accommodation, transportation, and the countless logistical details that carry you from the beginning of your journey until its end. But there is another factor that is often overlooked: the religious and spiritual environment of the group you travel with.
Who will you spend those sacred days with? What will fill the journey between Makkah and Madinah? Will your companions encourage Dhikr, Salawat, love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and a deeper connection with Allah ﷻ or will the spiritual moments of the journey be left empty?
A Hajj group is not merely a travel arrangement. The people around you can shape the atmosphere of your pilgrimage and leave a lasting impact on your relationship with Allah ﷻ and His Beloved Messenger ﷺ.
Before choosing a group, seek recommendations from people you trust, but also look into the group’s religious background, values, and spiritual culture.
May Allah ﷻ grant us righteous companions, hearts filled with His remembrance, and a Hajj that transforms us long after we return home. Ameen.

Don’t let the world decide how openly you live your Islam.
When you begin practising Islam, growing a Sunnah beard, observing proper hijab, prioritising Salah, or leaving what Allah ﷻ has prohibited, you may face criticism, even from those closest to you.
But a believer does not follow every changing trend or go wherever the crowd goes.
Remain firm upon what is good, even when others choose otherwise.
Wear your Islam with pride. Hold firmly to your principles. Continue doing good, regardless of what others do.
May Allah ﷻ grant us perseverance upon His Din. Amin, bijāhinnabiyyilkarīm ﷺ!

Making Hajj Affordable 🕋
Hajj can be expensive!
But with proper planning, the cost can potentially be reduced significantly.
In this clip, Shaykh Nisar Chaudhry explains how Muslims living in the West, particularly those with family roots in Muslim countries, may be able to explore more affordable Hajj options through their country of origin.
The key is to start planning months in advance, not when the days of Hajj are already approaching.
If the cost of Hajj was the only thing preventing you from fulfilling this obligation, it may be worth exploring every legitimate option available to you.

The pursuit of wealth and status can quietly corrupt the heart. Imam al-Ghazali explains that flattering or praising people in positions of power merely to gain their favor, advance one's own interests, or obtain worldly benefits is a form of hypocrisy. Our Prophet ﷺ warned that greed for wealth and status is more destructive to a person's religion than two hungry wolves let loose among a flock of sheep.

Really excited to join my mentor, Imam Atif Chaudhry, at this summer camp in South Carolina!
Hajj is not something to keep postponing.
Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam and once a person becomes physically and financially capable of performing it, the obligation is no longer something to casually delay.
The Prophet ﷺ encouraged those intending to perform Hajj to hasten towards it, because none of us knows what the future may bring.
And the reward of an accepted Hajj is nothing less than Jannah.
Even if Hajj is not yet obligatory upon you, make the intention today. Start saving. Start planning. It may take years, but begin working towards the greatest journey of your life.
The reward is too great to keep saying, “One day.”
May Allah invite us all to His Sacred House and accept our Hajj. Āmīn.

The danger of being two-faced is greater than many realize.
The Prophet ﷺ warned that among the worst of people on the Day of Judgment are those who present one face to one group and a different face to another.
Drawing from the timeless wisdom of Imam al-Ghazali, Shaykh Nisar Chaudhry explains that Islam calls us to honesty, integrity, and justice. Not pleasing people at the expense of the truth.
Even when two people are in conflict, a believer does not fuel division, spread hypocrisy, or tell each side what they want to hear. We either remain silent or speak the truth with sincerity and fairness.
May Allah purify our hearts, protect us from hypocrisy, and make us people of truth. Āmīn.

Getting Back To It!
05/24/2026
Hajj, Umrah, or upon visiting any blessed place, take a step back and soak it in.
Soak in the Barakah of what your eyes are beholding, the sounds your ears are welcoming, the presence you feel of the people of Iman around you. Slow down and take it all in.
These are places that were graced by the blessed feet of the Beloved of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم, the Noble Companions, the Ahl-ul-Bayt, legendary Awliya like Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Ghazali, and so many others. You are where they once were. Don’t let the Barakah of soaking this all in slip you by.
Feel the spiritual connection you have with the Muslims around you. Like you, everyone is the fruit of the work of Allah’s close servants who strove to spread Islam. All the colors, shapes, and temperaments around you succeedingly unite in the da’wah of the Awliya, the Blessed Companions, and finally our Master, our dear Nabiyy, our Savior, the Beloved of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم.
With Iman, we become one. The physical differences do not matter.
The Earth is filled with many blessed places. Visit them and take in the Barakah that fills the spiritual air.
