Calling all Lifeguards! Join us at Somerville YMCA 10/10 for The Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification Class! This comprehensive training program will equip you with essential lifesaving skills and certifications, preparing you to become a confident and capable lifeguard.

Come and learn how to play Hong Kong-style Mahjong at Somerset Hills YMCA. This includes learning the tiles, how to start a game, how the game itself is played, potential strategies for winning, and the language used while playing the game.

Halloween Costume Drive! Now through October 17 Somerset Hills YMCA is collecting new or gently used Halloween costumes supplies in partnership with Community Child Care Solutions (CCCS), a local non-profit organization that focuses on ensuring low-income working families can access and afford high-quality childcare and early education programs, and Accompany Now!, a local nonprofit assisting youth who have recently arrived in the U.S. without traditional family support systems.

Costumes should be suitable for children 0-14 years old. By participating, you’ll ensure all children will have a magical Halloween experience.

Let’s come together and make this season spooktacular for every child!

BE INSPIRED Achievers College & Career Prep Program at Plainfield YMCA is a college and career preparation program to motivate youth and teens by giving them the support and resources to pursue and achieve their personal, academic, and career goals.

Free for students in Grades 9–12 starting October through May + Free YMCA membership to Somerville YMCA is included after completion of the Achievers program.

From Adaptive Volleyball, Fitness, Dance Abilities, Musical Me, Yoga, and Swim, our participants showed up, ready to move, learn, connect and have fun!

We’ve already seen confidence grow, new abilities, discovered, and countless smiles along the way.

One participant shared, “I love the dance class and making new friends, while dancing to Cotton Eyed Joe.” Another shared, “I loved the volleyball class. I had so much fun and got so sweaty.”

This is what inclusive recreation is about. Creating opportunities for joy, connection, confidence, and growth, while building a community where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported.

RECREATION FOR FAMILIES WITH AUTISM: Saturdays in Motion, at Somerset Hills YMCA, is a FREE recreational program for children ages 3-17 with autism. Autistic children and their families join together on select weekends for recreation. Volunteers lead the program and carefully guide the children through gym time activities. This program is free to the community.
