Young artists from Princeton YMCA’s, Club Princeton Y Achievers, recently had their artwork, “Alas y Raíces” (Wings and Roots),” on display at the Arts Council of Princeton's Andrew Siegal Gallery.

The exhibition ran from July 11 through July 31, highlighting the creativity, imagination, and personal expression of local students through a colorful collection of paintings and papier-mâché sculptures inspired by monarch butterflies.

The featured collection invited students in kindergarten through fifth grade from Princeton Public Schools to explore themes of family, belonging, kindness, unity, freedom, and hope. Drawing inspiration from the monarch butterfly's remarkable migration between Canada, the United States, and Mexico, students reflected on stories of identity, growth, and connection through their artwork.

Memory Cafe is a monthly gathering in a safe and supportive environment designed for individuals experiencing memory loss, Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, other memory challenges & their Caregivers. Join a comfortable, social gathering that allows people experiencing memory loss and a loved one to connect, socialize, and build new support networks. Cafes are free to attend and welcome to all.

Princeton YMCA, will be held on the last Tuesday of each month.
Somerset Hills YMCA, will be held on the last Wednesday of each month.
Hillsborough YMCA, will be held on the third Thursday of each month.

National Night Out was a wonderful success! 🎉 Our Somerset Hills YMCA team enjoyed connecting with members of the community, sharing resources, and creating fun memories with games and prizes for the kids.

Empower Students! SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE: NOW- AUGUST 31

Somerset Hills YMCA is collecting school supplies to support Bernards Township and Accompany Now!, a local nonprofit assisting youth who have recently arrived in the U.S. without traditional family support systems. Your donation will help ensure these students have the essentials for a successful school year.

ITEMS NEEDED:
📓 NOTEBOOKS (NEW):1, 2, and 3 subject notebooks & composition notebooks
✏️ WRITING TOOLS (NEW): pencil cases, #2 pencils, sharpeners, erasers, pens, highlighters, crayons, washable markers, colored pencils
📏 SUPPLIES (NEW): 2-pocket folders (no binders please), calculators, child safety scissors, glue, 12 inch rulers, and headphones.
🎒 BACKPACKS (NEW OR GENTLY USED)
