But that’s not all—the Balladeers, making their debut in the Women’s Choir category, also struck gold with a first-place win and a superior rating! 🎤✨
And the cherry on top? The Balladeers took home the Best Overall Choir award, earning the highest score among all 14 ensembles (instrumental and vocal) that competed! 🎶👏

✨Hostetter Arts Center Gallery is Pleased to Present the Work of Jon Sarkin '71✨
Jon Sarkin '71 is a self-taught contemporary artist known for his densely layered works that combine text, imagery, and abstraction into highly personal visual narratives.
After a life-altering stroke in his 30s, Sarkin turned to art as a means of expression, developing a distinctive style that has been exhibited widely and featured in films, publications, and galleries across the country. For thirty-five years, working from his studio in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Sarkin produced an estimated twenty thousand drawings, paintings, collages, and mixed-media works. His method was stream-of-consciousness: layering ink, marker, paint, and found imagery across paper, foamboard, and disassembled vinyl record sleeves. Recurring motifs — Batman, cacti, jazz musicians, mantra-like word lists — cycle through the work with obsessive frequency.
Mr. Sarkin's impact on the Pingry Community was felt during his annual, one week Artist-in-Residencies, during which he met with visual art classes and created works on site. Throughout these Residencies, countless students and faculty were inspired by his work, his passion, and his life. His work will be on view in the Hostetter Arts Center Gallery from April 27 through May 20. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., when school is in session.

ICYMI, The Hostetter Gallery is pleased to present “Irene Rousseau: “Visualizing the Infinite: Geometry, Pattern, Scientific Imagination”, a solo exhibition of paintings and mosaics!
Irene Rousseau is a Summit, New Jersey–based artist whose work explores the visual language of mathematics through geometry and scientific inquiry. She earned a Ph.D. from New York University and an M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University. Her work is held in major museum collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Tekniska Museet of Science & Technology in Stockholm. Her solo exhibitions include the Science & Art Festival in Athens and the New Jersey Institute of Architects. She received First Prize for Installation at the International Art Biennale Malta, the AIA/NJ Design Presentation Award, and a travel exhibition award from École Polytechnique in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture and the Mathematical Society of France.
Ms Rousseau writes “I am not a mathematician; however, my work is deeply informed by mathematical thinking and scientific inquiry. My art is interdisciplinary and draws inspiration from concepts related to structure, symmetry, systems, and transformation found in nature and the universe. Guided by intuition and visual experimentation, the work functions as a form of modeling, using pattern, repetition, and variation to translate abstract mathematical ideas into perceptible form. The integration of geometry and organic complexity reflects a dialogue between natural systems and mathematical order."
The exhibition is up until Friday, April 24, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. whenever school is in session!
