A big thank you to ExxonMobil and Parker Oil Company for investing in our students at Mecklenburg County High School!

MCHS has been selected to receive a $500 grant that will help fund collaborative STEM projects connecting our core academic classes with our Career and Technical Education programs.

The goal is to bring English, math, science, and history teachers together with CTE teachers to create hands-on student projects that reinforce learning across multiple subjects while giving students opportunities to apply their knowledge in meaningful, real-world ways.

We are incredibly grateful to ExxonMobil and Parker Oil for supporting innovative learning opportunities for our students and helping us continue to build connections between the classroom and future careers.

We are just two weeks into the new school year, and our DE Nurse Aide students are already on a roll! They’ve jumped right into learning the fundamentals of Nurse Aide, communication, ethics, professionalism, and infection control. They’ve also been spending time in the lab, gaining hands-on experience and practicing essential board skills. 🧤🩺

Future early childhood professionals at work!

Students are getting hands-on with what quality early care really looks like. They spent time brainstorming the characteristics of strong early childhood programs, then put their learning into practice with our RealCare babies.

From understanding what young children need to experiencing just how much care and responsibility goes into meeting those needs, these students are learning by doing.

Another great example of learning coming to life at MCHS! Thank you for sharing with us Dr. Vick!

📅 August 25 | 📍 MCHS Gym

Picture Day will be held Tuesday, August 25 in the MCHS Gym from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Every student will have photo taken, even if you do not plan to purchase pictures. This photo will be used in the yearbook and uploaded to your Infinite Campus student profile — and 20 years from now, you’ll be glad you were in the yearbook!

Public schools in Virginia are required to perform certain safety drills each school year. Mecklenburg County
High School will practice a lockdown drill on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Staff have reviewed expectations
and practices for this drill with our students this school year. Students' and staff's safety continues to be our top
priority.
