🐾 Today is and we are raising our paws to some of the best canines we know!

🐾 Facility dogs serve our schools by providing comfort, connection, and a calming presence for students and staff. Whether helping a student regulate their anxiety, boosting confidence during difficult moments, or offering unconditional comfort during tough transitions, our dogs help students build strong social-emotional skills and connection.

🎉 Basehor-Linwood High School 10th Grader Isabella Sipe and Kaylee Kirkpatrick, 2026 graduate, received an experience of a life time competing at the National FCCLA Conference in Washington D.C. last month.

🏅 Isabella received a top 10 placing for her Job Interview and Kaylee achieved a silver ribbon in Public Policy Advocate!

🟢 While in Washington D.C., they also received a tour of the United States Capitol building from Blake Phillips, who is the son of Shawn Phillips, BLHS Assistant Principal and Athletics Director!

🟡 Our FCCLA students and sponsors would like to thank all the local sponsors who made the trip possible!

Meet the Bobcats 😺 is tonight at Basehor-Linwood High School!

🟢 Basehor-Linwood High School will be hosting Meet The Bobcats 😺 on Monday, August 24th!

🟡 Meet The Bobcats is a community event where fall sports and activities are introduced and then followed by volleyball and soccer scrimmages that are open to the public. The night will start with a parent meeting for athletes from any season in the newly renovated auditorium where BLHS Activities Director, Shawn Phillips, will talk about current topics related to activities at BLHS. After the parent meeting, the event will move to the main gym for the introduction of teams. After the introductions, the volleyball and soccer teams will have a scrimmage that is open to the public.

4:30 - 5:15 p.m. - Football practice open to public
5:30 p.m. - Parent Meeting for athletes from any season in the newly renovated BLHS Auditorium
6:15 p.m. - Introduction of fall activity participants in the main gym
6:45 p.m. - Volleyball and Boys Soccer scrimmages

✨ Yesterday kicked off another great year of mentoring as our Basehor-Linwood High School CareCats visited their partnered classrooms for the first time!

🟢 CareCats volunteer in a mentoring or service role throughout their junior and senior years. These unique mentors study, talk, laugh, and listen to the children they are matched with and promote anti-bullying by focusing on the role model/student connection.

🟡 This semester there are more than 80 CareCats mentoring in 5 schools across the district!

🎓 Congratulations to BLHS freshmen who made their Commitment to Graduate as the Class of 2030 yesterday during their first day of school! 🟢🟡

🖌 With the new addition of the high school, this year started a new tradition where the students got to write their names on their class wall. Their names will be displayed during their 4 years at BLHS, representing their commitment to learning and graduating!
