The Taste is back on November 7, and this year we’re celebrating Longhorn Legacy: a night of great food, good music, and a whole lot of school spirit. Pull on your boots, flash your purple & gold, and bring your hat to our branding bar. We’re raising funds to help keep Basalt Public Schools the best in the Valley.

Things are growing across Basalt Public Schools this fall, and we could use your help.

BES Fall Garden Day is this Wednesday, October 7, from 8:15 AM to 1:00 PM. The whole 4th grade will be working in the garden with RFOV, and we need adult volunteers for the more technical projects. Even one hour makes a difference.

Here’s what else is happening:

BHS: Student Leadership is planting more than 1,000 flower bulbs in front of the school, with bulbs purchased by BEF.

BMS: Scouting America is building ADA-accessible garden beds and an outdoor learning space for an Eagle Scout project. They’ll also harvest produce for BMS and handle fall cleanup.

Thank you to Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers, Scouting America, Eagle Crest Nursery 🌻🌿🌸, and all of our volunteers. These projects happen because of you.

Motors on Midland was a blast last night. 45 cars packed Midland, and the win went to Vicente Diez in his 1968 Ford Mustang.

Thank you to every car owner and everyone who came out for our Longhorns. This is our favorite night in Downtown Basalt, and it means even more knowing it supports Basalt Public Schools.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors, especially our event title sponsor Double Diamond Moving and our community sponsor, Alpine Bank.

Thank you, Basalt! 💜

Big day for Basalt second graders! 🚲

On May 15, BEF is partnering with Wish for Wheels to gift 40 Basalt Elementary second-graders their very own bikes and helmets.

Wish for Wheels has helped put more than 99,000 bikes in kids’ hands since 2004, and this year, 40 of those bikes are rolling into BES.

Every second grader will bring their bike to school for a day of riding, with volunteers from Roaring Fork Cycling helping out and the Basalt Police Department and Roaring Fork Fire Rescue joining in for bike safety before students hit the pavement.

Let's ride!

¡A rodar!
