AG WOMEN CONNECT NETWORK

🌾 SERVANT LEADERSHIP LOOKS DIFFERENT.

Women are often the first to show up, the first to help, and the last to choose themselves.

They serve their families, teams, farms, ranches, churches, and communities—usually without asking for recognition.

That’s not weakness. That’s leadership.

Jesus showed us that real leadership isn’t about having the biggest title or being the most important person in the room. It’s about using what God gave you to serve, encourage, and uplift others.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” — Mark 10:45

But here’s the reminder: having a servant’s heart doesn’t mean running yourself empty. Even Jesus stepped away to pray and rest.

Serve others. Stay humble. Protect your peace. Let God refill your cup.

To the woman doing the work no one sees: God sees you. Your leadership matters. Your story matters. 🤍

CATTLEMAN U

The people you surround yourself with make a world of difference in your life.

Find the ones who are willing to celebrate your success just as much as theirs.

The ones who will encourage you to go on in the tough moments.

The ones who want you to win just as badly as you do.

Those friendships are worth their weight in gold.

May we find those friends and be those friends.

Tag the friend that's always cheering beside you.

POLK COUNTY AGRI-FEST

Meet Bridget Stice, UF/IFAS Extension Polk County’s Livestock Extension Agent!

For the past 29 years, Bridget Stice has been connecting our community with research-based information about livestock, agriculture, and natural resources. Whether she's working with cattle producers, educating youth, or helping families learn where their food comes from, her mission is simple: make agriculture more understandable and accessible.
One of Bridget’s favorite parts of her job is working with Florida’s cattle ranchers and helping tell their story. She admires their commitment to producing a safe, wholesome food supply while also caring for the land, wildlife, and natural resources that benefit us all.

When she’s not working, Bridget enjoys learning about Florida’s ranching heritage and spending time with the people who make our agricultural community so special. Their knowledge, traditions, and stewardship continue to inspire her every day.
What motivates Bridget most is helping people better understand the vital role agriculture plays in feeding our communities, conserving natural resources, and preserving Florida’s heritage. Whether she's meeting with producers or talking with students at Agri-Fest, she's building connections that strengthen appreciation for agriculture across Polk County.

✨ American National CattleWomen Member Spotlight! ✨

Introducing Lucy Bowers!

From the Brighton Seminole Reservation in Okeechobee, Florida, Lucy Bowers carries deep roots in both ranching and Seminole heritage. Growing up around cattle shaped not only her connection to agriculture, but also her appreciation for the traditions, family values, and way of life that ranching represents.

Lucy’s journey with American National CattleWomen began through the Florida CattleWomen and a curiosity about the beef industry beyond the pasture boundaries. She wanted to become part of an organization that helps tell the story of agriculture while protecting the ranching lifestyle and traditions she holds close to her heart.

Why does ANCW matter to Lucy?
Because it brings strong women together through a shared passion for the beef industry and agriculture. Lucy believes that no matter where someone comes from — whether it’s a ranch, a reservation, or somewhere in between — cattlewomen are united by the same mission of protecting the industry and preserving this way of life for future generations.

Favorite part of ranch life?
The early mornings spent cooking breakfast for the crew on workdays and working cattle alongside her uncle and brother in the cowpens. Those moments keep her grounded and deeply connected to both her family’s ranching roots and her Seminole heritage, serving as daily reminders of where she comes from and why preserving that legacy matters. 🤎🐮
