Empowered Christian Academy (ECA) is a private, Christian school serving students in Grades K – 4th. Marcus and Monique Floyd as an extension of Marcus D. Floyd Ministries and Burkett Chapple Church. ECA is a safe place for students of all academic levels. Our school is located in Bartow, FL. Our students, teachers, staff and parents collaborate to bring out the best spiritual, academic, behavioral, social and emotional results in each child with the help of God. The aim of Empowered Christian Academy is to provide our students with a Christian perspective to guide their worldview. We want all students to have an appropriate understanding of their responsibilities in their commitment to Christ while at home, school and in everyday life. We promote the highest standards and we encourage our students to be their best each day. Our Christ-centered approach is the focal point of everything that we do! To close out the 2025-2026 school year at Empowered Christian Academy, on the last day of school, we had a “Water Fun Day!” The students played several water related games and had a water balloon battle at the end of the school day! They had a great time throwing water balloons at each other and at Dr. Monique Floyd and Mrs. Maya Davis!

On Wednesday, we had our Kindergarten, 5th and 8th grade graduation and end of the year ceremony at The Club at Eaglebrooke. A special thank you to Ms. Monica who takes great care of the members of The Club and is always willing to help Drs. Floyd with any event they have at The Club!

Our graduates were able to choose their desired cap and gown color representing their grade level. We recognized each student for grade level promotion, Honor Roll, Spelling Bee Winners and our student who completed two grade levels of curriculum in one school year!

We also recognized Mrs. Frances H. as “Parent of the Year” for two consecutive years. We are so proud of our students and all that The Lord allows us to accomplish at Empowered Christian Academy!

In the beginning of May, we had our first “Spring Fling” at ECA. Everyone dressed up, looked very nice and enjoyed the songs played by the DJ! The theme was “Hollywood Red Carpet” and it was a free, ticketed event! Each child that registered to attend, had their name on a star next to the red carpet. To God Be the Glory!

In April, our ECA choir was blessed to sing at the Florida State Primitive Baptist Convention in West Palm Beach, FL and to ride a charter bus to the event. Our Head of School, Dr. Marcus D. Floyd serves as the Church School Convention President for the East FL District P. B. Association and as the Pastor of our church, Burkett Chapple P. B. Church. Dr. Marcus D. Floyd preached at the Florida State Convention this year.

Our ECA Choir, directed by Mrs. Maya Davis, had an outstanding performance and the conventioneers gave them so many compliments. It was even stated while we were there, that they had been wanting children/students to attend the Convention and with the help of God, we were the first group to do it! Glory to God!
