Bartlett Education Association

The Bartlett Education Association is the professional organization for educators in Bartlett City Schools.

Operating as usual

“The assault on public education today is broader than that of the past. Past assaults were foremost about race, and although race remains part of today’s story, the primary rallying cry is against public education itself." Derek W. Black, School House Burning

All members should be on the lookout for new membership cards in the mail. They look like a postcard and you tear the card out from the top right corner.

We can’t wait to see all our members! If you haven’t already switched to EZ Pay we will be there to help with that. If you are already an EZ Pay, we still want to see you!

Juneteenth commemorates the announcement in Texas in 1865 of the abolition of slavery—two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation—and honors the day that Black Americans gained their freedom. Try these titles and learn more about the history and tradition. 📚

Congratulations to the winners of this year's Member and Student Scholarships!

If your dues are currently coming out of your paycheck directly, you MUST switch to a different method of payment before this new law goes into effect on July 1st or you will lose your membership and benefits. If you have any questions, reach out to us and we will be happy to help!

Have you made the switch? To continue the member benefits and support you count on, you MUST convert your membership dues to online EZ Pay. There will be no payroll deduction next school year. Link to convert is in the comments!

Attention all BEA Members! Scholarship applications are now being accepted for both members who are working on an advanced degree and children of members who are graduating this year!

It is with heavy hearts that we share about the death of Mrs. Blount Smith. Blount was a pillar of the Bartlett community, teaching for over 50 years, advocating for public education, serving as BEA’s first President, and a faithful member of Wells Station Baptist Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.
