Tuesday, June 27, 2023 ~ As of 6:30 p.m. this evening, Children First Child Care Center was experiencing a power outage. An update will be available by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Wednesday, June 28 as to whether or not power has been restored. If there is no power at that time, Children First would be closed for the day. Check in tomorrow morning for an update! We hope our Children First families are safe and comfortable this evening. You are always in our thoughts!

Children First has power this morning. We are open, but are aware that our families and teachers may not have power. If traveling, be safe friends!

We are thrilled to announce the celebration of Ms. Jennifer Dugan's 20th anniversary at Children First. Ms. Jennifer has loved, cared for, and taught many children on their journey to kindergarten. You are welcome to leave her a note in her Appreciation Journal or a card in her card basket, both which can found on our parent table. Words could never express the deep, heartfelt gratitude we feel for Ms. Jennifer's dedication to Children First and her Shining Star Students.

Front Door Wind Advisory Alert!

Due to strong winds, we ask that only adults open and close our front door this evening. There is a possibility of the wind blowing the door unexpectedly. Please hold tightly and ensure that the door completely closes behind you, being mindful of your young children and keeping them safe.

We have been celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Ms. Bettie Pollard. Ms. Bettie has loved and cared for many precious babies here at Children First. You still have a few more days to stop by the parent table and leave a note in our book of appreciation or leave a card in our card basket. Words could never express our appreciation for Ms. Bettie’s dedication to Children First and providing quality loving care to our infants. ❤️

8:00 p.m. Wednesday 2-1-23 The University of Memphis has announced they will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, 2-2-23. Children First will also be closed. Stay safe, we hope to see everyone soon!

7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The University of Memphis has canceled classes for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Children First will also be closed. Stay safe, especially if you must travel!

5:42 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2023. The University of Memphis has canceled classes classes for today. Children First will be closed today. We will continue to monitor their announcements for updates about tomorrow, February 1, 2023. Thank you, stay safe!

5:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023. At this time, the University of Memphis has not canceled classes today. At this time, Children First will be open. We will watch for any further announcements from the university in the 30 minutes and keep you updated. Be safe out there!

10:10 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023. As of now, the University of Memphis has not canceled classes for tomorrow, January 31, 2023. The university has indicated that they will make an announcement by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning based on weather conditions. If the university closes, Children First will close as well. Have a good night, friends!

12:30 p.m. Children First will remain open today. The University of Memphis has announced that they will remain open today, 3/30/2022. They have encouraged decisions to travel be based on personal safety. We will encourage they same. Stay safe, Children First family!

With severe weather expected, per our inclement weather policy, we will close if the University of Memphis closes. At this time, the university has not announced that they will cancel classes. We will continue to update our page. Stay safe!

Children First Child Care Center has electricity, is warm and toasty, and will be open tomorrow, Monday, February 7. We are thinking about all of our employees and families and all of those in our greater Memphis community who may not yet have power.

Children First Child Care Center will be closed Friday, February 4, 2022. The University of Memphis has announced classes will not be held tomorrow, and per our policy we will close as well. Also, the child care center does not have electricity at this time. We hope all of our families do have power at this time, as we are aware that some of our teachers have been without most of the day. Stay warm and be safe.

Children First will be open Monday, January 17, 2022. Traditionally, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a teacher training day at Children First. To prevent the possible spread of the Covid-19 virus, we will not conduct training, but be open for care as usual.

Children First Child Care Center will be closed Thursday, January 6, 2022, due to the prediction of a quarter to a half an inch of ice as well as 1 to 3 inches of snow along the I-40 corridor. At this time most school systems have closed, and we feel this is the most prudent decision to be made for the safety of our employees and families. Stay warm and safe, friends.

Hello! Tomorrow is Monday, February 22 and Children First will be open. The University of Memphis is closed due to the concern with usage of water from MLGW. However, we are in Bartlett and not effected. Please drive safely tomorrow morning. We look forward to seeing all of you!
