The Imagination Library is free to every participating family, but BPSF expects our local share of the program to cost approximately $25,000 this school year.

We couldn't do it without The Dollywood Foundation—and we couldn't do it without you.

Every donation, at every amount, helps put another book into the hands of a Washington County child and helps us continue a program that has grown tremendously since it began here in 2022.

Jay Wenzel was instrumental in helping bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to our community in 2022—and today, more than 60,600 books have been mailed to local children.

What is Giving Sight Day?
It is one Saturday a year we are able to provide free eye exams and glasses for patients that do not have any type of insurance!
This year it is on October 3rd and we currently have openings!

$25,000. That’s what BPSF projects it will cost locally to provide Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Washington County this school year.

Thanks to The Dollywood Foundation and the Oklahoma state partner, these high-quality books are available at a significantly reduced cost. That partnership is incredible—but local support is still an important part of making sure the program remains completely free for families.

Dolly believed deeply in giving back, especially when it meant opening doors for children. On September 25, Give Like Dolly Day gives us an opportunity to carry that generous spirit forward right here at home.

58% of Washington County children under age five are currently enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!

That means books are arriving in mailboxes across our county every month—building home libraries, encouraging families to read together, and giving children books of their very own.

And there’s still room to grow.

If you have a child under age five in Washington County who isn’t enrolled, signing up is easy and there is no cost to your family. Children can begin receiving a specially selected book every month until their fifth birthday.
