Here are the Top 5 Evidence-Based Strategies to Keep Kids Engaged in Music Practice:

1. Give Them Ownership (Autonomy Drives Motivation)

Children practice longer and more consistently when they feel control.

Implementation Framework:
• Let them choose 1 “passion piece” alongside required repertoire.
• Offer structured options: “Do you want to start with warmups or your song?”
