Have you seen Toy Story 5 yet?

The movie touches on something so many families are experiencing today—the growing competition between screens and the simple magic of childhood play and exploration.

Over the years, there has been a change. Many children have become so accustomed to having a screen available that when play becomes challenging or boredom sets in, they often want to stop instead of working through it.

We've also seen how quickly screens can capture a child's attention. They become so absorbed that the world around them seems to disappear. The curiosity, conversation, and creativity that naturally emerge during play can take a back seat when entertainment is constantly being delivered through a screen.

That's why we made the decision long ago that our childcare center would be a completely screen-free environment, and that will never change. We believe children deserve a childhood filled with conversations, laughter, messy art projects, outdoor adventures, books, music, pretend play, and friendships—not screens.

Technology certainly has its place, but children only get one childhood.

Our promise to every family who walks through our doors is simple: we will continue protecting that childhood by giving children the time, space, and encouragement to play, imagine, explore, create, and truly connect with the world around them. I believe those experiences build resilience, confidence, problem-solving skills, and compassion—qualities that no screen can replace.

A friend of mine in her 70s told me a story recently about when she was raising babies in California. She and her friends would drop their kids off at daycare, head to Disneyland, ride roller coasters, scream their heads off, and then come pick up their children.

Apparently "self-care" existed long before social media. 😂
Now, we're not saying you should go to Disneyland...
We're also not saying you shouldn't. 😉

I laughed when she told me the story, but honestly, I get it.
Parenting is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world, but sometimes you need a break, a quiet cup of coffee, or maybe even a roller coaster.
