Bartlesville Public Schools ATLAS classroom

Sincere thanks to Captain Tate and his exceptional crew from Bartlesville Fire Station #4 for spreading joy at our ATLAS Christmas party this afternoon.

As a school break approaches, our students frequently experience increased anxiety. Ms. Tina, our behavioral health coach, took time to assist this student in discussing and processing his emotions about the upcoming break. ❤️

Some may look at this picture and just see a few kids sitting on a classroom carpet, but I see months of consistency and persistence paying off. In August, most of these kids wouldn’t even join us for Nurture Group (I’m not kidding when I say it was like herding cats!!) We maintained a calm, predictable environment and routine. We took these kids exactly where they were and slowly built trust. This is success. This is and always has been my “why”.

Nuture group with our 5th grade students is so much fun. Most of these students have been with us from the beginning and we are so proud of their growth and accomplishments!

This week we talked about setting goals and overcoming obstacles and setbacks. ❤️

Our program always for lots of mixed grade level interactions. I caught this sweet moment this week. I love watching our older students practice their leadership and mentoring skills.❤️

We are so grateful for all of the generous people that help keep our snack cabinet filled. Thank you Bryan and Nancy (and anyone we may have inadvertently missed)!
