Bartlesville High School Aviation

Class of 2026! Have to give a special shoutout to this group. These kids have been in aviation since day one! First hour freshman year for most of them. The first group to complete all 4 years of the class. They have been instrumental in building our program. They were patient and trusted the process and took advantage of any opportunity given to them. Their enthusiasm was evident from the beginning. We all challenged each other to get better and raise the bar. From balsa wood gliders freshman year to Cessna 172s senior year they have flown them all. It’s been an incredible journey to watch them learn and grow! They are leaders not only in our program, but outside of it as well. Excited to see what the future holds for them! Many of them are furthering their education in the field of aviation in college and their potential is sky high! Enjoy some throwback pictures of their experiences!

Aviation IV students with their complete Zenith Aircraft 701 rudder kits! Riveting, problem solving, teamwork, and learning how to decipher and follow instructions they met it all head on. Not to mention the use of multiple different tools! Skills gained that will last a lifetime.

Fun day teaching the 1st graders at Hoover Elementary about the parts of an airplane then helping them build and fly their own gliders! Couldn’t have asked for a prettier day to get outside and see how far they could fly!

As part of the senior capstone project 3 senior girls Leah, Rebekah, and Raine designed an aviation lesson geared towards 5th graders. Today they along with their senior classmates got to teach their lesson to the 5th graders at Wilson Elementary! A quick look at how airplanes stay in the air along with some hands on activities!

Thanks to the 5th grade teachers at Wilson for letting us come by and hopefully we inspired another generation of aviation enthusiast!

The Oklahoma winds didn’t stop 30 students from taking flight today! Thanks to Planebros for coming out to BVO and putting on a discovery flight day. Great day flying, cooking out, and just hanging out! All 30 kids got to go up in a plane, take the controls and put our classroom learning into practice. Several students even went up a second time and rode backseat while their classmates flew! Also thanks to the BVO airport employees for hanging out and chatting with everyone.
