It's been awhile, but with covid on the decline, it's time to get back to work helping families. If you are looking for support, I'm here to help. I have 25 years of experience and have helped hundreds of families to carry their little ones in baby carriers, wraps and slings. I serve the high desert of Southern CA.

Wrapping is a lot like riding a bike. Once you learn how, you will always know how, but if you don't practice, it can take a bit to polish up your technique. Good thing my baby is compliant and doesn't fuss while I practice because it took me a few restarts to figure out where my middle marker needed to go for these carries. Don't worry if it's not perfect. Baby will still appreciate being close to you, no matter how sloppy the knot is - and you will nail it the next time!

Day 6 of and here is my youngest. Olive. I had a lot of complications during my pregnancy that ended with a traumatic emergency c-section. The weeks and months following were some of the hardest. I was experiancing birth trauma and post-partum anxiety that slid down into full-blown post-partum depression. Babywearing saved me during that time. Gave me a way to bond after missing the 'golden hour', as I struggled to breastfeed, and my feelings of failure and anger at my body for letting down this little girl. I always knew that carrying was amazing for my babies, but it wasn't until it carried me through this time, that I realized really how important it is for the birth giver.

day 5. Naomi was my happiest baby. She loved to be carried and she still does every once in a blue moon. She loved coming to babywearing meetings with me and still asks when I'm going to go to a meeting or class again.

Day three of up next is my sweet Alice. She was my sling baby. Born to be worn. She is still my cuddle bug. I have so many adorable pics of her because phone cameras had started to be a thing even though they grainy and low res and still no front facing camera. What a time to be alive! 2011-2012.

day 2! My kiddo Benjamin. He much preferred buckles and back carries, so we started them pretty early on. He also was a leaner like no other and would climb up my back. When he was tired, he loved to be carried and he would snuggle in and twist my hair in his fingers. These pics are from 2007-2009

It's International Babywearing Week 2020! Technically there are now flexible dates to allow groups and businesses to decide what week is best for them, so expect babywearing posts from me all month long.
theme is embracing the future. Today I'm sharing pics of my girl who really started my obsession because she couldn't be put down ever. Things were very different back in 2006-2007. But the snuggles and the benefits were the same.

Babywearing and breastfeeding go hand in hand. ❤❤❤
Increasing breastfeeding duration: One Sling at a Time! Written by Jennie Bever Babendure, PhD, IBCLC By now, most of us in the lactation field have heard of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC). Maybe you’ve even been lucky enough to hear Nils Bergman speak pass…

Sad baby. She was wrapped and asleep in five minutes flat. She's almost two and a half and working on being so independant that I forget sometimes that she's still a baby and she needs me to carry her.
