This year, Ramadan is expected to begin the evening of Friday, February 28th. It's a festive and holy time in Islam, meant for togetherness and community. For some Muslim students, however, this time can sometimes be lonely or isolating, especially if they are a small minority. Fortunately, there are a few simple things teachers can do to support students.

Recognizing when your child’s emotional cup is empty is key to supporting their well-being. Signs like irritability, clinginess, or withdrawal can indicate they’re feeling overwhelmed or disconnected.

To refill their emotional cup, try spending quality one-on-one time with them, offering physical affection like hugs, or simply listening to their feelings without judgment. Playtime, positive affirmations, and words of encouragement also help them feel seen and loved.

By filling their emotional cup regularly, you help them build emotional resilience and feel secure.
