Connie Amaden Crawford

Connie Amaden Crawford recently passed. As an author, educator, ASG Hall of Fame honoree, licensed Butterick Pattern designer, and founder of Fashion Patterns by Coni, Connie was an icon in our industry. Her kindness and contributions inspired numerous current industry leaders. Connie was featured in the 2010 SCHMETZ Designer Portfolio. (from the Rhonda's SCHMETZneedles newsletter)

­Connie had an incredible influence on my career. The first time I met her, she was on stage and asked a member of the audience to come up. Connie took a black sleeveless dress off her rack and asked the woman to put it on. When she came back on stage the transformation, the fit, the posture...it was that WOW moment when the reality of 'fitting' and learning pattern making knocked me into a lifelong search for education in the sewing, alteration and custom garment world.

She did a wonderful program for the NH Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. She and Wayne travelled with the most amazing trailer/sewing studio. She loved sharing her talent and knowledge.
