𝐖𝐇𝐎𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀𝐀...We couldn't help but be on our high horse yesterday when local sports legend 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐎 𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐘 made a surprise visit to sign up for his BALibrary card! Billy's a busy guy, but he got his card, checked out a book about magnificent horses, tried on some costumes, took a ride down the slide, and made lots of new friends in the Youth Services department - then he had to gallop back to Barrington High School to get ready for a football game! We sure appreciate Billy taking the time to celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month with us. Still don't have a BALibrary card? Don't say NEIGH - sign up today!

You don't have to be a celebrity (or a horse!) to get a Barrington Area Library card. Visit our website balibrary.org, click Library Cards, check the interactive map to find your address, and then sign up in person or online.

UPDATE: Prairie is going to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game after a 5-4 quarterfinal win yesterday and 6-3 semifinal win this morning! The Fillies play again at 3:30 p.m. Good luck, ladies!!!

In STEM class at Hough Street, students are using creativity and flexible thinking to test, improve, and bring their robot designs to life!

Using Hummingbird Kits, they are designing, building, and programming their own "tiny musicians." While taking risks and sharing ideas, students must problem solve to figure out how to get their program to drum to their own beat!

This past Saturday our community came together for a double celebration, blending the Sunny Hill Elementary Juntos Run as One 5K with a historic 100th anniversary milestone picnic where Barrington Giving Day officially unveiled their new name: The Giving Community.

The morning kicked off with so much energy on the racecourse, all thanks to the incredible planning and coordination by our awesome Sunny Hill team!

Once everyone crossed the finish line, families, volunteers, and partners hung out to enjoy music, games, and great food while honoring a century of community impact.

A very special thank you to The Community Meal for serving lunch, as well as The Lost Faculties Band, made up of our very own Barrington 220 staff, for putting on an outstanding performance!

It was a beautiful morning that highlighted the incredible strength, spirit, and heart of our community.

Throughout the month, Barrington 220 second graders are visiting Grigsby Prairie to learn, explore, and connect with a natural area right here in our community!

During today’s visit to Grigsby Prairie, Rose students searched for plants, explored how plants and animals work together, and paused to listen to the sounds of nature.

These experiences are part of Barrington 220’s Nature Lady Program, a longstanding partnership with the Garden Club of Barrington that brings hands-on nature learning to our students.

We are grateful for the time, expertise, and generosity of our community partners who help bring authentic learning to life and connect our students to nature!

Lead Your Learning is our theme for the 2026–2027 school year, celebrating students who take an active role in their learning and use their skills and creativity in meaningful ways.

This video from last spring highlights Prairie Middle School Consumer Science students bringing Barrington Early Learning Center students’ drawings to life by creating one-of-a-kind stuffed animals inspired by their designs. A few weeks after their initial design meeting, the Consumer Science students presented their creations to the young artists who inspired them!

We love seeing our students lead their learning, put their creativity into action, and make a difference for others!

BTP Brew is brewing up something special!

Students from the Barrington Transition Program are putting their vocational skills into action with BTP Brew, a student-run coffee cart selling drinks and snacks while helping students build confidence, independence, and real-world workplace skills.

BTP Brew is kicking things off at the Barrington 220 District Office, with hopes of popping up at other locations across the district in the future.

We’re so proud of our students for taking on this new opportunity. Every drink sold is another opportunity to learn, grow, build confidence, and prepare for life after high school.
