When Business Leaders Show Up in the Classroom 04/28/2026

National Mentor Month is a reminder that some of the most powerful learning happens when real-world experience meets the classroom.

At White Plains City School District, mentors like Todd Ilberg don’t just “volunteer”—they become part of the journey. What started as supporting his son turned into a passion project he now calls a highlight of his year.

Inside INCubatoredu at White Plains High School, Todd and other business leaders help students think bigger, communicate with confidence, and turn ideas into something meaningful. Students don’t just learn about business—they experience it, gaining the confidence to present, adapt, and lead.

And for mentors? It’s just as impactful. As Todd puts it, it’s about “giving back… and making a difference in the way they get to the finish line.”

That’s the power of mentorship...real connections, real growth, real impact.
