That is exactly what students at Northwestern University's Center for Gifted and Talented discovered this summer through mxINCedu. For three weeks they went from identifying a real problem to building a solution, gathering customer feedback, and even making commercials. One student said it best. AI can write a script but it cannot make people feel the product. That human connection is what entrepreneurship is really about.

Jason Roemer has been teaching business education for 27 years and for the past several years he has called Fredericksburg, Texas home. Ask him what changed his classroom and he will tell you it was INCubatoredu.

In just one year, he brought 30 volunteers into his classroom and connected students with community leaders they may not have crossed paths with otherwise. The community showed up in a big way and the students delivered. Link in the comments to hear the whole story 👇

At some point, everyone is going to be a business owner or part of a business. That is the thinking behind what McAllen ISD just did for every 11th grader across all five of their high schools.

As the school year kicks off, we're celebrating the educators who create real-world learning experiences for their students.
Roger Lane at Palatine High School in Township High School District 211 watched his students sell out 75 candles at a local convention. Nicole Franczvai at Lewisville High School in Lewisville ISD saw a student go from struggling to make eye contact to leading conversations with mentors. Abbey Deain at Lake Zurich Middle School South in Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 watches students take control of their own learning every day. Deborah Shuler at Poplar Grove Middle School connects high schoolers and middle schoolers in peer learning that makes both stronger. And Daniel Gridley at Conn Magnet Elementary School in the Wake County Public School System is building entrepreneurial thinking from the ground up.

From 70 student ventures across the country, just five teams earned a place in the 2026 INCubatoredu National Pitch Competition.

After pitching their businesses to a panel of accomplished entrepreneurs in Chicago, Fika Matcha from was awarded $20,000 in startup funding.

Congratulations to all five finalist teams—and thank you to the educators, volunteer mentors, judges, and supporters who help students turn ideas into real businesses.

At White Plains City School District, mentors like Todd Ilberg don’t just “volunteer”—they become part of the journey. What started as supporting his son turned into a passion project he now calls a highlight of his year.
