Barrington Early Learning Center

Barrington Early Learning Center The school mascot is the Zebra. Students are placed according to their individual needs.

The Barrington Early Learning Center is a free early childhood education program that serves at-risk preschool students ages 3 to 5 years-old in the Barrington 220 School District. The ELC qualifies prospective students through screenings offered throughout the school year in the areas of pre-academic skills, gross and fine motor skills, vision and hearing, social skills, and speech/language. When the original Early Learning Center opened in 1986, it was located at the former Woodland Elementary School in Carpentersville. The current state of the art ELC building opened in Barrington in 2010, sharing a campus with Prairie Middle School. This proximity allows for a unique partnership between the two schools, in which the ELC benefits from service projects by Prairie students.
