Just a cute picture of a couple of my working students! Wait-what? This doesn't look much like work. Looks like casual, relaxed lounging in the shade under a beautiful tree. No judgment, but... (Just kidding! My working students are absolutely the best! Shout out to Heidi, Kelly and Emily who make my life so much easier. I love you guys and couldn't do it without you!)

So pretty! Pangea is starting his training at Red Sky. Heidi will be working hard this fall but this guy seems to be so easy, kind, and enthusiastic!

In love already! The new guy, Baxter, is here and settling in. He's very stoic and elegant. I look forward to watching him shake off the racehorse work ethic and enjoy some down time being brushed by little girls who will braid his mane, going out in the pasture with new friends, watching the other horses jump around, and being dressed up with hats and sparkles and stuff.

I love seeing our beginner riders become intermediate riders! Cora and Oakley bring out the best in each other over cavaletti. We couldn't do it without the support of our awesome parents and our wonderful lesson horses (you know who you are!)

A pretty lady on a handsome horse! Welcome Iwona to the program. Thanks, Pippin, for another good lesson.

Shout out to Lily, who rocks her posting trot with quiet hands and great focus! She's a hard worker with a wonderful attitude. Way to go, Lily! And thanks to Pippin for another wonderful lesson; we love you, Monster-Tantrum-Bulletproof-Lanie's Boy!

There's something so adorable about a big horse jumping crossrails! Crossrails are the foundation of our sport, and I appreciate how much a simple jump can teach us and our horses. So here's some cuteness: Jimmy G (aka Gino) jumping his first course. He's not going to make the audition for the Bolshoi, but he's darn cute getting around. (He's for sale-and he's pretty awesome!) Thanks to Kelly for taking the video!

A fun day: 2 instructors, 2 great school horses, 2 enthusiastic new junior riders! Welcome Lizzy and Janna. Emily and Kelly had the lesson today and they were great even in the humidity! And as always, thanks to Jude and Pippin for a great lesson!

It's a new guy! He's not here yet, but we're looking forward to the impending arrival of Baxter! This wonderful gelding is retiring from racing (with a very respectable career) and will be starting his new life as a hunter/jumper/eq horse. After he decompresses for a few months, he'll tell us which ring he wants to be in. With his quiet temperament he might just make it in all 3 rings! HUGE thanks to Red Rabbit Racing and trainer Chris Block for bringing this great horse into Red Sky Farm! Shout out to Jean G, who is the pretty lady in the picture!

I always tell parents that riding lessons have many, many things to teach young riders: organizational skills, focus, concentration, follow-through, cause and effect, self-preservation and problem solving, to name just a few. Cora has the intensity with her tacking up that will benefit her in all aspects of her life. Good job, Cora! And thanks to Juju for another good lesson.
