🌿 Staff Spotlight: Meet Abigail Scribner 🌿
Some people discover their calling over time. For Abigail Scribner, it began while she was still in high school.
Growing up in Cabot, Vermont, Abigail started her professional journey through an early college program and a part-time substitute position at Cabot School. What began as a job quickly became a passion. Through supporting students, helping raise her younger brother, mentoring younger children, and drawing from her own positive experiences in childcare, Abigail realized that working with children was exactly where she belonged.
After a year as a paraeducator, life brought a new adventure. Abigail and her boyfriend, Kaden, moved to Williamstown, and her search for a position closer to home led her to a small private school that immediately caught her eye—the Montessori School of Central Vermont. After connecting with Kristen and spending time observing in the Maple classroom, she knew she had found the right fit.
Since joining MSCVT in November 2024, Abigail has grown from Float Teacher to Birch Assistant Teacher while earning her degree from CCV. Today, she spends her days helping young learners build confidence, independence, and a love of learning that will stay with them for years to come.
What does Abigail love most about MSCVT? It’s the opportunity to learn alongside the children every day. Their curiosity, creativity, and unique perspectives continually inspire her and make each day meaningful. She also treasures the kindness and support that make the MSCVT community so special.
When she’s not in the classroom, Abigail enjoys drawing, reading, camping, traveling, exploring the outdoors, and making memories with family and friends. She shares her life with her boyfriend, Kaden, and their cat, Bailey, while her beloved cats Nala and Simba still rule the roost back at her childhood home in Cabot.
