Tomorrow, Tuesday December 2 is Giving Tuesday. With decreased funding from the federal government, these are hard times for many of our neighbors and the local organizations that support them. People need more, yet there’s less to give. Please support any of your local non-profits this Giving Tuesday.

Please consider a donation to CVAE. Did you know that low literacy is a major factor in poverty? About 70% of those receiving social services have low literacy. Did you know that when an adult gains a high school credential, their earning potential immediately increases by 26%? That’s life-changing! Your donation to CVAE will help almost 450 adults to gain the skills they need to empower themselves and break cycles of poverty.

For those who are already donors, we thank you. If you are not yet a donor, it's very easy. Just go to https://www.cvae.net/donate. Thank you!

We need your help! Adult education funding (which has been appropriated by Congress and allocated by the Department of Education) is being withheld by the Office of Management and Budget, putting CVAE programs and opportunities at risk. We are a democracy and this needs to change. Please contact your Congressperson and speak out. Demand that funding be restored!

Adult Education and Literacy Week starts today. It's a time to celebrate the accomplishments of our students, past and present, and to welcome new students.

What is adult education and literacy? It's the skills and assets adults need to get ahead in community, family, career, and further education:
- Literacy to 12th grade levels
- High school credentials
- English language learning
- Readiness for college and career training
- Job readiness, including certifications.

We'd love to welcome a bunch of new students this week. If you or someone you know may need our free services, please call (802) 476-4588 or email [email protected]. At CVAE it's all about getting you to where you want to go!
