On Sept. 19, make your destination BARRE! You’ll enjoy an Art Social at SPA to celebrate 4 new shows and a performance by a group from the VT Fiddle Orchestra and the Sylvia Plumb Dance Co. At our partner sites, 159 N Main (Pearl Street Pizza/AR) and Morse Block, you’ll find terrific foods, drink and artworks. Just down the street at the Barre Opera House, there is an evening performance of The Robert Cray Band. Earlier in the day, there is an annual granite festival at the VT Granite Museum. In our Classroom, enjoy a performance of a group of musicians from the VERMONT FIDDLE ORCHESTRA (VFO), including composer and Assistant Director of the VFO Susan Reid.

At 5PM, join us for DANCE A SCULPTURE with Sonia Plumb Dance and Company. This performance event on the front plaza at SPA is also a participatory community event open to movers and shakers of all ages and abilities.

Yesterday the “Second Tuesday” artist group met in the SPA classroom to discuss their work in progress and other issues. This group of artists first came together in 1994 and they have met monthly since then to share their work ... an exemplar of collaboration and collegiality. They exhibit regularly around the region and at SPA.

Last night, we received the help we needed … Christopher Curtis kindly drove over to Barre and installed a major sculpture created by the late John A. Matusz. We’re thrilled to have 3 stone & steel sculptures by John on display in our front plaza in time for our annual Rock Solid show. Thank you very much, Chris!
