Hobby Horse Daycare’s philosophy reflects the beliefs that children learn by doing with a focus based on the process not the product. Hobby Horse Daycare believes that a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment is crucial for children to grow in a healthy manner. Children require a need for love and belonging, that is why at Hobby Horse Daycare, each child is treated as an extension of

the family. Self-esteem grows through the activities and relationships experienced, while positive reinforcement encourages appropriate behavior allowing children to recognize their own importance as individuals. A variety of both large and small motor activities, as well as activities intended to enhance cognitive and social qualities are applied daily. The activities and environment are examined and adjusted regularly, based on the developmental needs of the children enrolled. All children are treated equally regardless of age, s*x, religion, culture, race, ethnical background or developmental level. Hobby Horse Daycare is delighted to be given the opportunity to have an influence on the lives of children. A
commitment to all children enrolled is shown through the respect, quality and attention given to each individual child. I believe in the strength of family and I understand that I am only a substitute for you, the parent, I also realize that it is important that we work as partners in the nurturing of your child(ren).

After 24 years in business, I recently decided that I will be closing Hobby Horse Daycare. I want to thank all the of the amazing parents and their children for supporting me over the years. I have developed some close relationships with many of you and it has been a pleasure getting to know you all and helping your children grow. Some of these kids are even in their 30’s now!! Whenever I see the honor roll or deans list I look to see familiar names and I always hope that I made a difference in their lives and education. Again, thank you all for supporting me and giving me the opportunity to care for and love your children like one of my own.

I also want to thank my husband for his role in my daycare. Tony kept the house running like a charm and plowed the driveway every snowstorm. He picked me up and dusted me off when I was feeling like I was a failure if a family left. His famous words are, “it always works out”. And he is always right about that. If a family left, a new one started within a week or 2. I could not have done this for 24 years without his support. ❤️

Hobby Horse Daycare has availability for one child Monday through Thursday beginning October 21st. Also a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday spot available immediately. Must be approximately 18m to 4yo. No school-age openings.

Hobby Horse Daycare is looking to fill one or two spots in the 1.5-4.5 year age range to do preschool activities with the children I am currently caring for. I have been licensed for 18+ years and received my Associates in ECE in '08. I serve a healthy breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. I have a preschool inspired classroom at my home. When we can, we go on trips to parks, plays, the library, bowling, sledding and any other fun activities that are age appropriate. Great references. I also take families that use the state assistance for childcare. I am conveniently located in Barnstead, on Rt 107N, for all surrounding towns, as well. Private message if interested.
