All the World’s a Stage! Project Forward's theater course!

Through storytelling, improvisation, role-playing, movement, and collaborative performance, students are building much more than theater skills. They’re working on developing confidence, communication, creativity, teamwork and self-expression — all in a fun, supportive environment where every student’s unique contribution can be celebrated.

We’re also incredibly fortunate to welcome Maddie Barr as our new instructor. Maddie brings an impressive background as a theater educator, actor, playwright, director and producer, with many years of experience in the theater world. Her work has included theater education and directing in New York City and here on Cape Cod, and she has a true passion for helping young people discover their own creativity and love of the stage.

Maddie’s energy, experience and enthusiasm are already shining through in the classroom, and we can’t wait to see where she takes our students this semester!

And of course… "All the world’s a Stage" and our students are ready to find their place on it!

October is a busy month at Project Forward! 🍂

We have two exciting events coming up!

PROJECT FORWARD HALLOWEEN DANCE

Get those costumes ready! Our Halloween Dance is always one of our favorite nights of the year — an evening of pizza, dancing with DJ Stylz, games and prizes, and hanging with friends 🎶🕺🎃
This event is for current Project Forward students and Alumni.

PROJECT FORWARD OPEN HOUSE 🏠

3:00-5:00 PM
Wilkens Science & Engineering Building-Great Hall

Our Open House is a chance for our current students to bring their families to campus and give them a glimpse into their Project Forward experience.
Families will have the opportunity to meet our staff and instructors, have some light refreshments, and see some of the skills our students have been working on so far this semester. Campus tours will also be available.

It was Campus Beautification Day at Cape Cod Community College.

Employees from across the college rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to make our campus even better—planting shrubs and bulbs, spreading mulch, weeding, raking, and tackling lots of cleanup projects.

Mrs. Marini and Ms. Bradley took on the Project Forward Memorial Garden, which lines the staircase of the MMWilkens Building. After plenty of weeding, trimming, and organizing, the garden is looking totally refreshed!

We’re pretty pleased with how it came out! 🌱❤️

HAPPY NATIONAL COFFEE DAY! ☕️

Did you know the Seashore Cafe in building 4 is operated by students and staff in the Project Forward program.

Project Forward stands as a nationally esteemed program dedicated to providing vocational training for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This initiative has earned distinction as the first program in Massachusetts to be granted Comprehensive Transition Program status by the US Department of Education. This recognition empowers our students to access financial aid, marking a significant stride towards an inclusive higher education experience.

Cape Cod Community College is getting a little glow up! A little refreshing, a little sprucing up, and lots of new spaces to sit back and relax, are popping up everywhere.

Check out the fun, colorful Adirondack chairs around campus and the new massage loungers in the Cafeteria!

And DON'T forget to stop by the Seashore Café and check out our new high-top table and stools! While you’re there, grab an espresso drink, a Chai latte, or one of the many delicious flavors of Cape Cod Coffee we offer. And — flavor shots are always available too!

We love seeing these new spaces come to life. What a cool time to be at Cape Cod Community College! 💙

What a GREAT first week at Project Forward!

Our students jumped right in—meeting new friends, reconnecting with familiar faces, learning their way around campus, and getting a first look at all of the exciting classes and experiences ahead this year.

And what better way to kick off the semester than with Cape Cod Community College’s Welcome Back event? Students enjoyed music, lunch, ice cream, activities, and time together on campus.

There’s always a lot to take in during the first week, but our students handled it well. We loved seeing new friendships beginning, confidence growing, and so many smiling faces throughout the week.

We’re officially underway. Welcome back, Project Forward students! 💙
