September 11, 2021 must never become another date in a history book.

For those of us who have lived through that day, we remember where we were. We remember the fear, the disbelief and the heartache. We remember the unity that resulted, the countless acts of courage and sacrifice that followed.

But an entire generation has now grown up knowing September 11th only as history. It is our responsibility to make sure they understand the magnitude of what happened and why we continue to remember.

Take sometime today to talk with your children, grandchildren, students and the younger people in your life. Tell them what you remember. Talk about the lives that were lots, the families forever changed, and the first responders and ordinary people who show extraordinary courage.
