We are going for the 1st time to St. Monica's Catholic Church this morning to speak to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade parents about prayer, forgiveness and the Eucharist.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼❤️

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗢! ❤️

The 8th graders at Our Lady of Lourdes in Wash. MO are kicking off their Confirmation Retreat and we get to meet with their parents.

We will share about keeping the faith alive in teenagers and Confirmation.

This is what we do. This is who we are: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 ❤️🎙️

This is why we're having our Benefit Dinner on Oct 29th.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗮 ❤️

If you've ever heard one of our presentations on prayer and the Eucharist, you would have heard this reflective quote from St. Teresa of Avila:

"Pray this mass as if it was your 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀;
Pray this mass as if it was your 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀;
Pray this mass as if it was your 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀."

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗽𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀.❤️

When they're little, we pray for scraped knees, friendships, fears and everyday struggles.

And then they grow up.
The prayers change.

We pray for their decisions, vocations, marriages, families and most importantly, their 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵.

Our calling to pray for them never ends. Whether your children are 3, 13, or 33, 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

It's one of the greatest gifts we can give them. 🙏❤️

If you've heard Adam speak, you know he brings faith, humor, and heart to the conversation. And we're looking forward to a wonderful evening with him!

But this night is about more than a great dinner and a great speaker.

It's about helping parents build homes where prayer, forgiveness, and the Eucharist is at the center of family life.

And we need people who believe in that mission to come alongside us.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵.

You teach it when they see you pray.

When you say, "Will you forgive me?"

When you forgive.

When you make Sunday Mass a priority.

When you bless them before they leave the house.

When they hear you talk about God as Someone who is actually part of your life.

Our children learn what faith looks like by watching us live it — imperfectly — right in front of them.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

That's the beautiful mission of the 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵. ❤️

Tonight we will meet and speak with the parents of 8th graders about what parents can do 𝗡𝗢𝗪 to help keep their kids’ 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 and the importance of the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁.

Many of us learned the Guardian Angel prayer when we were little.

If your children don't know it yet, this weekend might be the perfect time to teach it.

Say it together before bed tonight.
It doesn't need to become a whole prayer service. 😊

The Domestic Church Initiative's annual Benefit Dinner is coming up on Thursday, October 29!
This evening means so much to us—not only because it supports the work of The Domestic Church Initiative, but because it brings together people who believe, as we do, that strengthening families matters.
We're excited to welcome 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿, and we're looking forward to an evening of good food, laughter, stories, and sharing more about where The Domestic Church Initiative is headed.
