Many thanks to all who made yesterday’s The Revolution will not be Tweeted talk, possible; John and Jane, the McIndoes Community Center for the use of their new, absolutely beautiful community space, and to the VT Humanities for their sponsorship of the talk. John Vincent’s quiet resistance with his printshop, A Revolutionary Press, in prisons and with the Young Writer’s Project is worth following; check them out! 🎇

REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TWEETED! Join us Sunday, August 16 at4 PM at McIndoes Community Center Sanctuary at 18 Brook Circle to hear VT Humanities Speaker , John Vincent speak on the role of the printing press leading up to the Revolution 250 years ago?
How were the hearts and minds of the people altered by this then “revolutionary “ method of communication? Was it more effective than social media of today in persuading the masses?
John will speak on how the intentional methodologies employed in the late 1700s colonies to print , and then foment, the People’s protest and their resistance, are utilized at A REVOLUTIONARY PRESS, a contemporary printshop in New Haven, Vermont today.
You will be able to print a work of your choice of some of the past visionaries or one this press works with today.

Tomorrow (Thursday the 30th) 9-12, then again after our Grand Opening welcome; a talk by Peggy Pearl at 6:30pm on Ben’s Mill and the impact it had on innovation in our rural area . We welcome everyone afterwards to enjoy refreshments and tour the exhibition at the library. Many thanks to the VT and NH Humanities Councils for sponsoring this beautiful installation.
