“You matter more than you realize. You don’t deserve to struggle alone.”
Gordon State Highlander Christopher Tapia recently took the stage for a TED-Ed Student Talk, sharing his personal journey with student-athlete mental health, identity, and finding purpose beyond the sport he loved.
After an injury forced Christopher away from wrestling, he found himself asking, “Who am I if I’m not a wrestler?” His journey of healing and self-discovery led to a powerful message that reaches far beyond athletics.
Christopher reminds us that we are more than our titles, accomplishments, or what we do. Sometimes, moving forward starts with reaching out, finding connection, and remembering that we don’t have to struggle alone.
We’re proud of Christopher for sharing his story and helping make conversations about mental health more visible in our community. 💙
