Today, Adult Education professionals representing four local providers came together for an exciting day of professional learning focused on strengthening opportunities for the families we serve!

We participated in NCFL Google LEO Train-the-Trainer, exploring new ways to use technology and digital learning to support adult learners and families. We also had the opportunity for an introduction to the Milton Hershey School and learned more about the incredible resources and opportunities available to students and families.

Days like today remind us of the power of partnership, collaboration, and shared learning. When Adult Education programs come together, we strengthen our ability to serve families and create pathways to brighter futures.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today a success!

In honor of Dolly Parton and her lifelong commitment to helping children discover the joy of reading, let’s show our love for her by supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Kentucky! We had an amazing class this past Friday! A massive thank you to our community partner, Harvest Express, Inc., for bringing a truck and an industry expert out to work with our students.

Nothing beats stepping out of the classroom for real, hands-on experience. Guided by a professional, our cohort got to work directly on live equipment—mastering pre-trip inspections and getting a close-up look at air brake systems. This is the exact kind of real-world prep that builds confidence! 🛠️✨

Nelson County Schools UP Center, Pathways UP Adult Education, and Team Kentucky Adult Education are offering a FREE Fast Track Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) program beginning June 9!

✅ FREE training
✅ CDL theory instruction
✅ Limited seats available
✅ Great first step toward a high-demand driving career

To qualify, students must:
✔️ Be at least 18 years old
✔️ Have a high school diploma or GED
✔️ Hold a valid Kentucky driver’s license
✔️ Have access to a computer and Wi-Fi for virtual coursework

📅 Cohort begins June 9
📍 Hybrid format with in-person, virtual, and self-paced online modules

Hands-on training + Industry experts = A fantastic night for our Adult ELDT cohort!

Tonight was all about the details as our students tackled Pre-Trip Inspections on the truck and logged some training time on the driving simulators!

To make the evening even better, the teams from Love's Travel Stops and Gemini Motor Transport joined us at Build UP for an amazing presentation on the future of the trucking industry and the incredible careers waiting for these students.
