Dr. Maria Montessori saw much need for reform in the educational system of her day and her goal was to develop the whole personality of the child, and her system is based on a strong belief in the spontaneous working of the human intellect. Her three primary principles are observation, individual liberty, and preparation of the environment. These principles and their various practical expressions

Rain may have changed our plans for the End of the Year Bash, but it definitely didn’t stop the fun! 🌧️🎉

Our winners of the “Pie a Teacher in the Face” prize from Montessori Madness finally got to claim their winnings! Jaxson pied Ms. Jessica on Wednesday, while Whittaker pied Ms. Rachel and Parker Vance pied Ms. Chloe today! 🥧😂

Afterwards, Payton Ulrich and Ms. Brittany stayed busy painting faces and arms while the children enjoyed indoor fun, spun the prize wheel, and even had the option to relax with a movie. Even with the rainy weather, our students still made wonderful memories together! 💛

From the very first day at St.Joseph Montessori, there’s a quiet kind of magic.

In that first year, everything feels so big—new routines, new friendships, tiny hands learning to do things on their own. There are moments of uncertainty, of trying, of growing.

And then, before we know it, it’s their final year.

Those once-little learners now walk in with confidence and purpose. They lead, they help, they believe in themselves. The same children who once needed support now offer it so freely to others.

It’s not just about what they’ve learned… it’s who they’ve become.

The growth between that first year and final year is something truly special—something you can feel in the way they carry themselves, in their kindness, and in their independence.

And as teachers, we couldn’t be more proud—of their growth, their courage, and the incredible individuals they are becoming. The sky is the limit for these boys and girls!

And just like that, they’re ready for their next chapter… carrying a piece of Montessori—and a piece of us—with them wherever they go. 💛

While some friends rest, our older kiddos who no longer nap have been busy exploring the world around them 🌿🐞

Today was all about nature play—searching for roly-polies, observing their tiny movements, and enjoying the simple joy of being outdoors. They also took time to help care for our environment by watering plants, learning responsibility while helping things grow 🌱💧

From gentle hands-on discovery to imaginative play, these moments spark curiosity, independence, and a love for the little things.

Three years ago, these sweet kiddos walked into SJMCC full of curiosity, tiny backpacks, and big feelings. Tonight, they will be graduating as confident, kind, capable leaders — and our hearts are so full! 🎓💙

One of the greatest joys of a Montessori education is getting to grow alongside our students for multiple years. We’ve watched friendships bloom, independence shine, confidence grow, and personalities sparkle brighter every single day. From learning practical life skills to reading, creating, exploring, and problem-solving together, this class has brought so much joy to our school family.

We are so proud of each and every graduate and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they’ll do next. Once a part of the SJMCC family, always a part of the SJMCC family! 🌟

Congratulations, Kindergarten Class of 2026! 🎉🍎📚

Beautiful weather, smiling faces, and special one-on-one time made this week extra fun! ☀️🍎💛

Millie, Parker Moore, Parker Vance, Jaxson, and Declan, along with Archer Craddock, enjoyed their “Lunch with a Teacher” experiences that their families won during Montessori Madness— our largest fundraiser held each March!

The students loved spending time with their teachers and enjoying lunch together in the sunshine. What a fun way to celebrate the excitement and support surrounding Montessori Madness! 🌿✨

Ms. Chloe’s class has been hard at work on a special, long-term project—and their dedication truly shows! 🌎✨

Our students took on a multi-step journey, carefully pin punching each continent with patience and precision. Through this hands-on work, they strengthened their fine motor skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them.

As their project came together, they used their continents to create their very own globes—bringing their learning to life in such a meaningful way! Along the way, they explored the Earth, learning about continents, oceans, and how our world is connected.

We are so proud of their focus, perseverance, and the pride they took in every step of this project. What an incredible way to learn about our amazing planet! 💙🌍

Part two of our exciting Friday! 🌼🐝

Along with planting day, our kiddos had a fun-filled morning learning all about pollinators! Our preschoolers explored with a hands-on pollinator experiment, completed a pollinator coloring sheet, watched The Magic School Bus episode on pollinators, and had a blast playing with the parachute!

Our kindergarten and older preschool class spent their morning diving deeper into pollinators by watching videos and creating two beautiful flower crafts to connect with our planting day activities.

And in the afternoon? While our younger friends rested, our older kids soaked up the sunshine—playing outside, enjoying the refreshed playground, and admiring the beauty of the plants they worked so hard to grow. 🌱☀️

What a wonderful way to learn, play, and celebrate nature!

What a wonderful day at our annual Planting Day! 🌱🌼☀️

Planting Day was always something so special to Sister Pat, and we are proud to continue her beautiful legacy by helping our students get their hands dirty, connect with nature, and make our school even more beautiful each year. 💚

In a Montessori school, nature is such an important part of learning. Maria Montessori once said, “There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.” 🌿

The children had an amazing time planting, learning, laughing, and working together—and none of it would have been possible without the incredible support of our school community!

A HUGE thank you to all of our parent volunteers and to everyone who donated their time, money, plants, flowers, dirt, supplies, and helping hands. Your generosity and support helped make the day such a success! 🌷🪴

We are so grateful for a community that continues to show up and keep traditions like this growing year after year while honoring Sister Pat’s legacy in such a meaningful way. 💛🌱
