Just because it’s summer, doesn’t mean our Cards are taking a break!
We want to recognize Ayden Perkins and James Trzop for their participation in Kentucky Boys State! This program is a nationally recognized Youth Leadership and Citizen Training designed for outstanding young men between their junior and senior year of high school. It is a 6 day hands on learning experience, and we are so proud of them.
Shoutout also to James for earning the top academic award!

Kick off to Senior Soar Week - Class of 2026.
On Monday, May 18th, our graduates participated in Seniors Serve. Mrs. Goff's Senior Seminar class used a curriculum from Lead4Change that gives students the tools they need to grow as leaders—and make a difference in the school or community. Over 70 graduating students participated in 11 projects that were planned and executed by students at local parks, food pantries, schools, and community programs.

What an INCREDIBLE day for our Entrepreneurship students at Nelson County High School! 🎉💼💰
On April 23rd, our students officially opened for business during our annual Market Day event — and they absolutely exceeded expectations!
✨ 20 student-run businesses participated, with some students working alongside partners or teams of three.
🛍️ Products included everything from sweet treats & specialty drinks, beef jerky & burgers, hats & apparel, keychains & jewelry, to handmade home décor items.
The support from our community was AMAZING:
❤️ Over 50 community guests attended, including representatives and Ambassadors from the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber also allowed students to do a ribbon cutting, signifying the launch of their business.
🏫 Every teacher brought classes through the event, meaning more than 700 students visited Market Day throughout the afternoon!
And the results speak for themselves:
💵 Total sales from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM reached an impressive $3,500!
🥤 “Mini Refreshers” earned the highest net profit of the day, bringing in an outstanding $750 profit.
👏 Every single business made at least one sale, and several businesses SOLD OUT before the event even ended!
More importantly, students gained real-world experience in:
✔️ Product development
✔️ Marketing & promotion
✔️ Customer service
✔️ Financial management
✔️ Teamwork & communication
✔️ Problem-solving under pressure
We are so proud of the creativity, professionalism, and hustle our students displayed throughout this project. Thank you to everyone who supported our young entrepreneurs and helped make this event such a success! ❤️💙
