Woohoo! One more day closer to the weekend and today we have got some celebrating to do! One of OKH’s very best is celebrating a birthday today and we want to use the rest of today to celebrate her in a BIG way!
Happy Birthday to the ELA guru at OKH, the one and only Ms. Tori Mousty! This LEADer is absolutely AMAZING and wears so many different hats in the Nelson County District!
Ms. Mousty’s first passion is in reading and writing, in which she does a phenomenal job. Her time in teaching ELA has inspired and taught many students across multiple grade levels the importance of being able to understand the importance or reading and the importance of being able to communicate through writing. Students have carried these skills with them after leaving the Nelson County District.
Next, she is a master at building relationships with students and families that makes each of them feel a sense of belonging. They know she is always there to guide them to the answers they are looking for. She truly takes time to really get to know each of her students and her students remember her for this special quality.
Ms. Mousty is also one of the master minds that keeps the sporting programs in Nelson County in top notch condition. Whether it is all the behind the scenes work like reserving buses or spaces, filling out countless documents of paperwork, or keeping all schedules and coaches in the loop she makes sure everyone is cared for in each and every athletic program offered. She wants all students to be able to have as many and the best of all experiences when participating in sports.
There is not another like Ms. Tori Mousty and OKH is so lucky to have LEADing! Ms. Mousty OKH hopes you have the best day ever and experienced all the love and care you give to everyone each and every day! Happy Birthday Ms. Tori Mousty!

OKH could not let this Sunday get away from us before we wish an AMAZING LEADer a very, very happy birthday!
Today, OKH celebrates the one and only, Mr. Gabe Stanley, Social Studies LEADer a happy birthday. Mr. Stanley is definitely one of the greats when it comes to building relationships with students. He diligently works to make connections with all students in his Care and Connect, Social Studies classes, or his soccer teams. He takes time to pour a great amount of heart and soul building relationships with students and making them feel apart of something bigger than just his classes. Any student that has come in contact with Mr. Stanley has a lifelong relationship that he prides himself in.
Mr. Stanley is a remarkable Social Studies LEADer that works hard on creating and developing lessons that help students to better understand the importance of learning Social Studies. He works to make connections in the material he is teaching with real world experiences. He takes time to not just give students feedback on assignments, but mentor them on ways to make not only that assignment better, but skills students can carry with them to other classes.
Mr. Stanley pours A LOT of heart and soul in his soccer teams. He not only teaches his players the love of the game, but the importance of discipline and teamwork to be successful in everything they do. He gives students opportunities to build relationships across grade levels through the skills he teaches his players each and every day. He teaches them that it is not about winning, but working together and respecting each other as a team.
Mr. Gabe Stanley is a very remarkable leader and we are extremely lucky to have him at OKH. Mr. Stanley we hope you have had the best day ever full of the care you give each and every day. Happy Birthday Mr. Gabe Stanley!
