Currituck FFA showed up and showed out today at the Albemarle FFA Federation LDE and Tool ID event!
The Parliamentary Procedure team placed 2nd overall. The team consisted of Melody Hill (President), Haley Kucenski (VP), Joseph Williams (Secretary), Micayla Smiley (Treasurer), Emily Harris (Reporter), and Kendall Young (Sentinel). This team completed a mock business meeting and displayed various parliamentary procedure skills.
Haley Kucenski placed 2nd overall in Employability Skills, where contestants interview for an agriculturally related job. Contestants submit a resume, cover letter, and complete a job application on site before the event.
Leigha Bardsley placed 1st over in the Creed speaking event. Contestants must recite all five paragraphs of the FFA Creed and answer questions to conclude the event.
Micayla Smiley placed 1st overall in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking event. Contestants are given 30 minutes to write a speech after choosing a topic at random. These topics are directly related to agriculture and the speech must be 4-6 minutes in length.
The Tool ID Team placed 2nd overall. Team members consisted of Andrew Crodick, Evan Tadlock, Kenli Harris, Summer Gabbard, Baylee Woyer, and Lane Harris. Contestants must identify 40 tools at random from a list of over 200 possible tools. They must also be able to identify tools by their use. Tool ID advances to the state level of competition in June!
All Currituck LDE competitors advance to regional level of competition in April!
