Never played before? Perfect! This class is designed specifically for brand-new players. We’ll walk you through the game step-by-step and then put what you’ve learned into practice with guided play at the table.

One thing that’s especially important to us is keeping our classes small, personal, and hands-on. We limit our classes to no more than 8 players per certified instructor, so you have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get individual help as you learn.

What a fun afternoon at the mahjong tables yesterday! 🀄️💕

We loved welcoming another group of new players to the game and watching everything start to come together as they learned, practiced, played their first hands, and celebrated those first MAHJONGS! 🎉🀄️

So… what comes after Beginner Mahjong? 👀

Our next step is Guided Play & Strategy, where we slow things down, play together, talk through decisions, and start building confidence with hand selection, the Charleston, reading the card, and strategy.

Every tile you discard tells a story.

Whether you realize it or not, the other players are watching for clues about the hand you're building.

As you play, consider:
• Are my discards revealing my strategy?
• Am I giving away what I no longer need?
• Could my discards help someone figure out my hand?

You can't keep every secret at the Mahjong table, but being thoughtful about your discards can make it harder for others to read your game.

The more aware you become of the information you're sharing, the more strategic your decisions will be.
