All good things must come to an end. ✨

After almost 14 years of making jewelry and 8 years of having my shop in downtown Baraga, I’ve decided it’s time to close the shop permanently and hang up my torch.

It all started back in 2012 when I took beginner silversmithing courses from the late Beth Millner in Marquette. Just two months later, I was selling my very first jewelry collection in a coffee shop and I’ve been making and selling jewelry ever since.

For six years, I lugged my family (and all my stuff 😅) to shows across the U.P. all summer long until I finally found a home on Superior Ave. My husband renovated a little space for me, and Ihana had a shop of its own. ❤️

What an amazing journey it has been since then. Eventually, we renovated our entire building to make room for jewelry-making classes. I’ve met so many wonderful people, heard so many good stories, taught classes, made countless pieces of jewelry, and gave away hundreds of dollars’ worth of jewelry during our annual Easter egg hunts. There are so many memories wrapped up in this little shop, and I’m incredibly thankful for all of them.

So, what’s next?

I’ll still make jewelry at home from time to time—but just for ✨fun✨. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends, and I definitely won’t miss having to say no to Saturday beach days or lunch dates because I have to be at the shop. ❤️

But most of all, I’m looking forward to serving and spending more of my time with the youth at NorthIron Church.

While it has been incredibly rewarding to make an impact on people through something material, I can’t wait to pour my time into something eternal. to disciple, encourage, and make an ETERNAL impact on the kids of Baraga County. ❤️

Thank you to every single person who bought a piece of my jewelry, walked through the doors of my shop, took a class, came to an event, shared my work, or supported Ihana in any way over all these years.
