October is National Pedestrian Safety Month. With school back in session and Halloween later in the month, it’s important to keep an eye out for pedestrians. Do your part:
🚶♀️Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
🌙Stay extra alert at night – 77% of nationwide pedestrian fatalities occurred in the dark in 2023.
🚗Follow speed limits and drive sober.
❌Never pass vehicles stopped at crosswalks. There may be people crossing where drivers can’t see.

The DMV Grant Program is up and running. If you qualify for free and/ or reduced lunch, you may be eligible for a grant to pay for drivers' education. Grant Program Update -
Wisconsin DMV’s implementation of the new Driver Education Grant Program, created by 2023 Wisconsin Act 86, is still in development and should be rolled-out this fall.
Under the program, teens who are eligible for a free and reduced school lunch can have their Class D (Regular) driver education paid for via a state grant. As designed by the legislature, students will apply for the grant directly with Wisconsin DMV. Once the student’s grant is approved, each student can enroll in any driver education program offered by an authorized driver education provider. The tuition will be paid directly to the driver training school.
RyO's Driving School is part of this program.
