The mural is really coming to life!

Over the past week, artist Julie Vornholt has added some of the mural's signature elements, including native wildflowers, a sandhill crane, cliff swallow, and viceroy butterfly. The "Welcome to Sauk Prairie" message is now in place, giving us a glimpse of how this beautiful community landmark will welcome residents and visitors alike.

There's still more to come, so be sure to stop by La Mexicana along Hwy 12 and watch the progress unfold!

On July 1, 1959, Circus World first opened its gates, preserving and sharing the rich history of the American circus for generations to come. Sixty-seven years later, the magic is still alive, the wagons still shine, the calliope still plays, and the wonder still fills the air.

Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning to relive treasured memories, there's never been a better time to celebrate the place where circus history comes alive every day.

From our humble beginnings in 1959 to today, we are grateful for every visitor, volunteer, performer, supporter, and friend who has helped make Circus World a beloved destination for generations.
