Most people don't realize a divorce decree can quietly disqualify them from the very mortgage they're counting on.
Support income that hasn't been seasoned. An equity buyout structured the wrong way. A settlement that looks fair on paper but falls apart at the closing table.
As a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP®), this is exactly what Lisa Severseike is trained to catch and prevent. She works where family law, tax, and mortgage financing intersect, so the plan holds up long after the ink dries.
Education is the strategy. If you're facing a mortgage decision in divorce, she can advise before the terms are final.

THIS!!! It's a tough industry to be in especially for a long time! But loving what I do makes it easy to show up every day.
Talent Isn’t Found. It’s Forged.
In mortgage and real estate, people often see the polished moment: the closing table, the smart strategy, the calm answer when things get complicated.
What they don’t see are the “dark hours.”
The hours spent studying guidelines, learning market shifts, sharpening communication, solving problems, and getting better one file, one client, and one lesson at a time.
That’s where real skill is built.
Mortgage myth: success comes from talent alone.
Mortgage truth: consistency, preparation, and experience create better results.
Tip: Whether you’re buying, selling, or planning your next move, work with professionals who have put in the unseen work before the pressure is on.

Summer vacation season is here, and if you're planning a getaway, now is a great time to make sure your home is prepped and protected while you're gone. A few simple steps can give you peace of mind and help keep your property safe.
Here's a quick homeowner checklist to use before you travel:
Set your lights on timers. Smart lights or simple plug-in timers can make your home look lived-in and discourage unwanted visitors.
Stop or redirect your mail. A full mailbox or pile of packages on the porch can signal that no one is home.
Check doors, windows, and locks. Give everything a quick once-over, including side gates and garage doors.
Adjust your thermostat. Save energy by setting a higher temperature while still protecting pets, plants, and electronics.
Unplug small appliances. Coffee makers, chargers, and countertop devices can all be unplugged to reduce risk and save power.
Let a trusted neighbor know. Ask someone to keep an eye out for anything unusual and bring in packages if needed.
Secure outdoor items. Store or lock down bikes, tools, or patio items—especially if you'll be gone for more than a few days.
Update your alarm or camera settings. Make sure notifications are active, batteries are charged, and everything is working properly.
A little preparation can make your time away more relaxing, knowing your home is in good hands.
If you're thinking about any summer projects or want a quick update on your home's value or equity before the busy season, I'm always here to help.

Prequalification starts the conversation. Pre-approval strengthens the position.
In a competitive market, verified numbers create confidence. For the buyer, the agent, and the seller. That clarity can be the difference between submitting an offer and winning one.

Prequalification is a conversation.
Pre-approval is a commitment backed by verified information.
When you submit an offer, sellers and agents want confidence, not guesswork. A strong pre-approval shows your income, assets, credit, and loan structure have been reviewed, giving your offer more credibility from day one.
In a competitive market, trust matters. Pre-approval helps you walk in stronger.
