🗣Calling all outdoor enthusiasts, Bobcat friends and family!!! Join our Lees–McRae College CHALLENGE FOR ACCESS TEAM 🤩

DID YOU KNOW that 1 in 4 Americans have a disability and 1 in 7 have a disability that affects their mobility?

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Outdoor adventure and recreation is a really important part of being mentally, physically and emotionally healthy. We believe that everyone should have access to these opportunities!
Unfortunately, we live in a world full of barriers and access to outdoor recreation opportunities is hard for people with physical disabilities.

DID YOU KNOW that Lees-McRae College offers Adaptive Adventure Recreation courses within our Lees-McRae College Outdoor Recreation Management Major? These courses provide students with an understanding of inclusion and its application to the design and delivery of outdoor programs and services. This is accomplished through modifications in equipment and programming. Through a long time partnership with Catalyst Sports, our students have been able to utilize specialized equipment to learn techniques for teaching and leading adaptive outdoor recreation activities such as paddling, climbing, cycling, and skiing.

That’s why WE NEED YOUR HELP now more than ever!

We are challenging individuals on this team of outdoor enthusiasts to accure 200 MILES (Riding, Running, Walking, Hiking, Paddling, etc.) throughout the month of May to raise awareness about the barriers that people with physical disabilities face and raise funds to help Catalyst Sports break down those barriers. This is a virtual competition to GET ACTIVE and SUPPORT A GREAT CAUSE!! Catalyst Sports has some BIG PRIZES lined up for challenge team participants from Arc'teryx, KEEN, Misty Mountain Threadworks and more!
