Banks School District staff all returned to schools on Tuesday to prepare for another school year. The kick off inservice meeting hosted several local community stakeholders and partners to start the year.

We welcome new students and Freshmen back to the high school on Monday next week and all students start on Tuesday.

Congratulations to the Banks Braves Trap team. They recently competed at the National Championships in Mason, Michigan. The host club for nationals has been around since 1956, sits on 400 acres, and 44 trap houses.

Eight of our Banks athletes qualified, five shot on the team event and six shot individually.

In the qualifying round there were 234 teams total and 1800+ athletes. The Braves made it to the championship round on Sunday (80 teams total). and ended up 63rd out of the total 234 teams.

The individuals shot last Saturday (800+ shooters) and we had two of our six make the championship round on Sunday (400 shooters). Our two athletes ended up placing around 250th place in the country.

It was a great and exhausting experience for the athletes as well as coaches, and learned a lot for future events.

It is that time of year to recognize our amazing graduates of Banks High School! The class of 2026 is a special group that have accomplished many impressive feats during their time at BHS.

Please help us congratulate BHS Senior, Omar Diani.

His favorite memory from high school was winning the boys cross country state championships in 2025.

His advice to future Braves is, “Surround yourself with good people.”

His favorite activity outside of school is to play chess 🤓

If he could go anywhere in the world, he would go to Bend Oregon, and try a Huckleberry milkshake.

After high school he plans to attend University Of Portland to study Electrical Engineering and run Track and Field.

He would like to thank the Schoolmeesters for all they have done for him, and his mom for being with him every step of the way.

He is proud of having a winning record and being better then Amin, Sophie, and Molly at Connect 4, but most importantly being the best at pickle ball 🥱.
