FIRExTalk FIRExTalk is a one-day firefighter conference consisting of twenty 20 minute talks on fire held across the United States. What is FIRExTalk?

The FirexTalk Program is designed to help fire service communities, organizations and individuals spark conversation and connection through a local TED-like experience. At a FIRExTalk event, a combination of live presenters and/or videos — sparks conversation and connection at the local level. FIRExTalk events are planned and coordinated independently. About FIRExTalk partnerships

FIRExTalk is

a fire service community event that inspires innovation, leadership, and passionate insights. Each FIRExTalk event is independently organized by an extraordinary individual. These individuals are not hosting a FIRExTalk event for political reasons, monetary reward or personal gain. Rather, they are doing this because they truly believe in the power of ideas to change the fire service world. The FIRExTalk event is seeking the support of local companies who can offer ways to enhance the experience for our attendees — most often, through in-kind goods and services. If you own or represent a company that wants to explore opportunities for partnering with the FIRExTalk event, read on! Why become a FIRExTalk partner? As a FIRExTalk partner, you will have the opportunity to engage in an authentic dialogue with an elusive, yet valuable audience: passionate, firefighters in the local community. You'll have an opportunity to test your ideas for the future, and you'll be challenged to positively impact the community in new ways. Becoming a FIRExTalk partner means you share in our vision of spreading ideas that are intended to change the fire service community for the better. FIRExTalk began as a humble experiment. Our hope is the program will be embraced, with passion and dedication, by hundreds — if not thousands — of fire service communities across the United States. Think of FirexTalk as an incubator for ideas. Partners should come to FIRExTalk events not only to present ideas, but as learners — to learn from the fire service community. Create an opportunity for this community of thinkers, doers, and leaders to engage in a subject that is meaningful to you. From a company's perspective, the FIRExTalk program may seem quite experimental — and, as such, a great opportunity for the partner to experiment. The Keep on Truckin’ Fire School will be a full 3-day training event. The following course titles with descriptions and details below:
• 2/4/6 Limited Staffing Fire Combat School with Live-Fire Attack [1 -Day 3rd or 4th]
• Basic Irons Forcible Entry [1-Day 4th]
• Advanced Forcible Entry and Egress [1-Day 5th]
• Mayday, Rescue and Rapid Intervention [1-Day 3rd or 4th]
• DPSST Apparatus Operator (Hands on Portion) [2-Day 4th and 5th]
• Just another Awesome Search Class [1-Day 3rd or 5th]
• Keep on Truckin’ Truck Work 1 (The Brutal Basics) [1-Day 3rd]
• Keep on Truckin’ Truck Work 2 (All Business) [1-Day 4th]
• Vehicle Extrication Basics and Beyond [1-Day 3rd 4th or 5th]

*Fire instructors from across the country are traveling to the Portland, Oregon area to teach, build the bonds of brotHerhood, and raise money for a fire service family devastated by tragedy.

Whether you like it or not, no matter your rank or position, you are a leader and people are looking up to you and expecting you to perform. Most do not recognize this inevitable role and revert to a decompensated version of “you should probably leave”, but you don’t because you think the last fart you had smelled pretty good….

This decompensation is expressed by yelling to get your point heard… threatening your people so they will follow you in fear…. Talking over your own people… minimizing training because you’re insecure with your own competencies…. And the list goes on …

The saddest part of this…. You’re too deep to even recognize that you’re killing everyone around you and relentlessly blame the problem on everything else but yourself……

That humble pie that’s been staring you in the face for your entire career isn’t gonna eat itself. Look in the accountability mirror every day and and unselfishly act for your people. It’s not just probies that need to keep their mouths shut, you should be working harder than everyone around you.

You asked and we have delivered! Our instructors will provide the training and/or evaluations for NFPA Firefighter 1 & 2. The Keep on Truckin' Fire School instructors are Oregon DPSST approved taskbook signers. Keep on Truckin' offers 24 hours of instruction and/or evaluations that meet or exceed Firefighter 1 & 2 requirements.
