The following is a message from high school principal Wilson:

Dear BHS Students and Families,

Welcome back, Vikings!

We hope everyone has had an amazing summer filled with fun, relaxation, and time with family and friends. It’s hard to believe that a new school year is almost here, and we are excited to welcome our students back to Bangor High School!

We have a lot to look forward to this year—new opportunities, great activities, Viking athletics, school spirit, and plenty of chances to make some great memories along the way!

Here are a few important dates to get on your calendar as we get ready to kick off the 2026–2027 school year:

🎉 August 26 – District Open House | 4:00–6:00 PM

Come meet your teachers, find your classrooms, and get ready for the new year!

We are excited to see our students and families back in the building.
🎒 August 26 – Backpack & School Supply Giveaway | 5:00–7:00 PM

Backpacks and school supplies will be available following the Open House.
🔔 August 31 – FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

The first day of school will be a half day. We will run a 1-7 period day that includes breakfast and lunch.
Come ready for a great start to the year!
TECH CENTER Students first day will be September 1st.

☀️ September 4 & 7 – NO SCHOOL

There will be no school Friday, September 4 or Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

🏈🎉 September 25 – HOMECOMING!
One of our favorite Viking traditions is coming up early this year, so mark your calendars now!

Homecoming Parade – 4:00 PM
Homecoming Football Game – 6:00 PM
We are looking forward to filling the stands with RED & WHITE and seeing our students, families, alumni, and community come together to celebrate Bangor! More information about Homecoming Week, Spirit Days, the dance, and other activities will be shared as we get closer.

We hope you enjoy the last few weeks of summer and come back ready to make 2026–2027 a year to remember. Get involved, try something new, support one another, show your Viking pride, and make the most of your high school experience!

Very excited to announce next week we are hosting BOTH a Middle School and Youth football camp. The MS camp will be for anyone entering 7th or 8th grade and the Youth Camp will be 1st-6th grade. Open to kids from Bangor, Lawrence and Covert. There will also be opportunities to get kids signed up if not already done. We also are still looking for volunteer coaches for the youth teams. We can’t have a great team without great volunteers! Go Vipers!
