Offering flexible online courses for middle and high school students, plus adult diploma completion and GED programs for ages 16+. Students at Bangor Career Academy (formerly Bangor Community Education Center) experience alternative education at it’s best! The State of Michigan defines alternative education as a separate program that runs within a K-12 public school system with the purpose of serv

ing and providing youth with choices and options when the traditional school setting doesn’t meet their needs. In general, alternative programs have three guidelines:

*Students have options for school attendance on campus
*The program addresses unmet local needs
*Demographics of the student population in the program are representative of the racial and socio-economic mix of the community
*Bangor Career Academy offers students the flexibility to succeed on their own terms. Students are able to graduate and receive their high school diploma or GED certificate despite the daily obstacles they may face. Key program features include:

*Work at your own pace
*Academic support from certified teachers
*Success coach support for goal setting and progress tracking
*Online access to coursework 24/7
*Students have an expansive list of electives to choose from. Bangor Career Academy uses the Edmentum
*Courseware software for 6-12th grade students
* Both a diploma track and a GED certificate track, giving every student the option to choose what is the best option for them

And that's a wrap! Today marks the end of another AWESOME school year at Bangor Career Academy!

Thank you to all of our students, families, and staff for making this year such a success. We are proud of everything that was accomplished!

We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break. Enjoy your time off, and we'll see everyone back on August 31 for another great year!

Last Day of School Reminder!

Tomorrow, Friday, May 29, is our last day of school! As a reminder, today and tomorrow are both early dismissal days, with school ending at 11:40 AM.

💻 All school-issued equipment must be returned by 11:40 AM tomorrow, including:

Chromebooks
Hotspots
Chargers
Chromebook cases

⏰ Edmentum courses will close tonight at midnight, so this is your final opportunity to complete any remaining coursework. Finish strong and make sure all assignments are submitted before the deadline!
