NESCom at Husson University

Students of One Circle Agency won three Golden Arrow Awards from the Maine Public Relations Council. The team behind the Float 207 team took home honors in Social Media, Integrated Communications Campaign, and Video Production. Students Sarah Grant and Kaiya Aceto represented the team at the awards ceremony Tuesday night in Freeport.

15 years. 589 episodes, and now the highest honor.
From humble beginnings at Next Generation Theatre to the sold out final episodes at the Gracie Theatre at Husson University.

NESCom Live Sound grads stay busy. Tania Lopez ('20) is on tour with Kid Cudi's The Rebels Ragers tour with guests Big Boi and me n ü. Tania is a PA Tech on the tour through her work with Clair Global.

Since graduating, Jack Lowell (’24) has worked tours with Blackpink, Three Days Grace, and Papa Roach. Yesterday his work with Clair Global brought him back to Bangor as PA Tech with MGK’s Lost Americana Tour with guests Wiz Khalifa and DE’WAYNE to open the season at Maine Savings Amphitheater.

NESCom Video/Film students spent time this week creating a video with Hampden Public Safety.

August 2nd through the 7th we’ll welcome high school students entering their sophomore, junior, and senior years for Maine Media Camp, a week of workshops, speakers, and hand-on experiences in a variety of media and communications careers. Video/Film, Audio Engineering (both studio/music production and live sound), Graphic Visual Design, Marketing Communications, Sports Journalism, Extended Reality, and more.

Happy Birthday to NESCom's own Rodney Verrill

This afternoon we celebrated our 2026 graduates with the annual NESCom Senior Recognition and Awards.

Husson University is grateful for its more than 15 year partnership with The Nite Show with Danny Cashman, which has allowed so many Husson students to experience real-life television production here on campus. Our students, faculty and staff were pleased to work on the recent taping of The Nite Show with Danny Cashman: Honoring George Hale, which will air tonight, Friday May 8 at 7 pm on WABI TV5 in Bangor and WAGM-TV Fox in Presque Isle. It will also air tomorrow, Saturday May 9 at noon on FOX23 in Portland.

In appreciation for all he's done to support experiential learning for Husson's audio and video students, Dan Cashman will be honored with the Chelsey H. Husson, Sr. Award tonight at our Graduate Hooding Ceremony. We are grateful for Dan’s continued support and proud to celebrate the impact he’s had on our students and the greater community.

Husson University's Rodney Verrill and Mark Nason were also on hand this morning at Brewer Community School, where Dan presented a check for $6,500 which was raised through the live taping of The Nite Show with Danny Cashman: Honoring George Hale to support music and theatre programs at the school.
