February is Black History Month and while Black History should be celebrated throughout the year, this is a time to reflect upon and share the accomplishments of the black community.
EMCC will be offering opportunities to reflect and learn throughout the month, but you may wish to celebrate by patronizing Black-owned businesses, celebrating Black artists, donating to a cause to support the Black community or watching movies/reading books to learn about Black history.
To learn more about Black History Month go to : https://www.blackhistorymonth.gov/about.html

✨ Student Spotlight ✨
Today we are featuring Nicholas Rogers a fellow human services student! He says :
I'm a retired Paralympic Sprinter. I was a member of team USA from 2016 till 2021. I won 3 bronze medals for America. I retired so I could come back to school and start the next chapter of my life. I'm dual majoring in the substance abuse rehabilitation certificate as well as my associates in human services. I work full time at the New horizons detox center. I've been thinking about going to med school someday to become a doctor.
