We are excited to welcome two passionate and experienced leaders to our board. Their dedication to the early childhood profession will help strengthen and guide MaineAEYC's work across the state! 👏

💚Janell was elected by MaineAEYC membership to fill a three-year term. For nearly 13 years, she has dedicated her career to supporting young children and families in a variety of roles, from teacher to director, administrator, and now child care center owner. Her hands-on experience and passion for the early childhood field make her a wonderful addition to our board.

💚Judy was appointed by the MaineAEYC Board of Directors to fill a three-year term. Throughout her career, Judy has worked to strengthen early childhood systems and advocate for policies that support children, families, and educators. With experience spanning direct service programs, public policy, and systems leadership, she brings a valuable perspective to MaineAEYC's work.

I have some exciting news to share!

After applying for a seat on the Board with the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children (MAEYC), I am thrilled to announce that, following ranked-choice voting, I was selected to serve a 3 year term on the Board.

This is such a tremendous honor for someone who began their childcare journey years ago as a substitute teacher, stepping in wherever help was needed, and working my way up over the years to become a Director.

Even then, I had big dreams of one day owning my own center, though I wasn't always sure I would achieve that goal. In 2024 that dream became a reality! I’ve never been one to stop dreaming, so when this opportunity presented itself, I knew I had to run as a candidate. Never did I expect to be selected 🥹🤍

Over the years, I have dedicated countless hours to professional development, advocacy, and supporting children and their families. Every step of that journey has helped shape the educator and leader I am today.

I am not only excited about this opportunity, but I am also genuinely grateful and honored to serve as a MAEYC Board member. I look forward to helping support and strengthen the early childhood education community across Maine while continuing to advocate for the children, families, and educators who make this work so meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. This achievement is one I am incredibly proud of, and I am excited for what lies ahead!🐝🤍

I feel biased when I say this but I do believe our staff are some of the best around! They are amazing human beings who show up regardless of their circumstances and pour their all into the classrooms full of young children who depend on them throughout the day🤍🐝
