Drum Lessons

"White Horse" by Chris Stapleton was originally written for the Disney movie 'The Lone Ranger' ten years ago. Ultimately cut, the song lived on and became a chart topper. Extremely tight band with Chris Stapleton's rocking guitar and signature vocals. Honestly, he made Nick Sirianni cry during his rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." The Eagles won that game but I forget who they played. ; ) He will always be a major voice of country in my opinion. Go to https://www.youtube.com/ and it is the first one. Please Enjoy!!

Happy Friday. We are going to go about this a little differently because I seem to have gotten in trouble. Fake trouble. If you go here https://www.youtube.com/ and click on Athena's beautiful face, you can hear my latest drum cover. I am doing all the songs that I dreamed of, back when I didn't play. And I have a very eclectic pallet. Drum Lessons, available RIGHT now. Enjoy!

I am trying my hardest to resurrect this page. This is me, playing drum set. Keep in mind, I did not go to school for drum set. In fact the last lesson I had was at age 17. I am 41. I can teach you or your children PERCUSSION. The kind they would use in school ensembles, adult ensembles. Mallets, Snare Drum, Timpani, Slap o phone (Alright, I am kidding about that one) I can also teach drum set but I use a musical approach. Try me, I will not disappoint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMOjbyoq5pY

I have always thought it necessary to have a drum set opposing a drum set for teaching. Almost crucial. Let all of us, go down the rabbit hole a little bit.

There are three main reasons. Numero Uno: Lessons usually last a half hour. Every second counts. This arrangement is going to streamline my teaching. Number Two: When a student hears something aurally, I believe it enters their brain and stays in their brain a different way (than reading it off a page). This is especially true for young men and women who are just starting out with written music. In my experience, there is something very important about the hearing/playing connection. Number three: I can play with the students as I teach. Playing does not equal a metronome but I feel that it reinforces what it is that I am trying to teach. And it is a different way to help students learn. And that's all I want, for students to learn.

Hope to hear from you soon!!!!

This song means the world to me. I wanted to bring my version of the drum track to life.

This was challenging. I will upload more and my voice will get better. For now, I am very pleased.

Hello. Hello. Hello.

I am a complete nerd for Percussion Equipment. Maybe, you are too.

This drum set represents the culmination of thirty years. It is my fourth drum set and my very last drum set. I don't see how it could get better. For me. The cymbals are half new and half second hand. The soundscape is deep and gorgeous. The different tones are extremely complimentary to one another. I couldn't be more pleased. Sometimes, I am beside myself.
